Booking ahead in a village pub matters more than it sounds. Here's the honest read on when, why and how to book at The Spinnaker.

When you do need to book

Friday evening. Saturday evening. Sunday lunch and early evening. Bank holiday weekends. Peak summer (July-August) most nights. Christmas season. Group bookings of six or more always.

When you don't

Tuesday-Thursday lunch and mid-evening. Off-season weekday meals. Casual walk-in for a pint with a small bite.

How to book The Spinnaker

Phone (051) 383 133 — fastest, gets you the personal touch. Email spinnakerbardunmore@gmail.com — best for groups, specific table requests, or anything beyond standard booking. Walk-in works in the windows above when no booking is needed.

Cancellation and changes

Ring or email to cancel or change — same channels as booking. Reasonable notice means the table can be released for another diner; village pubs work on goodwill rather than card deposits for most bookings. Last-minute cancellation is bad form anywhere; ring as soon as you know.
